Unexpected Trend Alert

Light pink and grey

Light pink and grey by beinspiredbyme featuring Oroton

This trend came as a surprise to me this season.  Generally, I think of pastels as a springtime trend, but here they are this fall.  I have to say I'm pretty excited.  Fall brings in some chunky and edgy fashion pieces, but the pastel colors are keeping them flirty and feminine.  My readers know my philosophy by now that edgy+girl=glam.  Math lesson of the day.  You're welcome, ladies.  Speaking of numbers, all of the items are linked at the bottom of this post if you'd like to purchase them.

I made this set on Polyvore.  My favorite website ever!  I entered it in a contest for alternative fall fashion colors to orange and brown.  I won second place.  It's rude to brag, I know, but I never won anything in my life aside from a few bucks here and there playing scratch offs from the gas station (I'm really lucky with those).

We've seen pastels rocked out on the runways this season, but here's more wearable everyday look.  Here goes the trend breakdown.  Colored skinnies paired with a flowy, collared blouse accent curves and give a feminine silhouette.  Chunky heeled ankle booties are huge this season.  The pale pink gives a dash of flirt to the edgy vibe of the shoes.  The outfit is pulled together with a small envelope clutch and a statement necklace.  The makeup and nails are kept neutral, except for some smokey shadow swept across the eyelids.

Leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite part of this outfit is or your favorite pastel color to wear this season!
